my 101 in 1001

I mentioned this challenge back in January, and I guess I never got around to posting it here (or completing the list, for that matter). Cleaning up at work last week I found my list. Sure it only had about 60 goals on there but I figured that since I'm almost a whole year into this thing, I might as well round it out to 101 and put it in writing. I've actually accomplished more than I expected and after months of not even looking at this list. Surprisingly (or, not surprisingly?) I haven't completed a number of goals on that list that seem so simple - I have to keep them on there and get motivated - no back tracking to erase things I have yet to do, even if I'm incredibly tempted.

I'm setting my start date at January 1, 2009 since thinking about new years resolutions was what led me to find the 101 in 1001 in general. I had a hell of a time thinking of a full 101 things. Am I not that creative? Am I not adventurous? I think I just have reservations about putting things on the list that are counter productive to each other. Like, wipe out half of our credit card debt while listing vacations we want to go on.

Goal:
Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.

Rules:
Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on my part).

Why 1001 Days?
Many people have created lists in the past - frequently simple goals such as New Year's resolutions. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organizing and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities.

Start Date: January 1, 2009
End Date: September 28, 2011
